TALENT IS TALENT

This is a canvas that is so reminiscent of a Van Gogh sunflower, but with the energy and vibrancy of innocence and purity. It's such a fresh new approach to impressionistic painting that it's hard to compare it to anything. It has such an individual point of view.
We love it!

AND...

it was also painted by a 4 year old! Most parents beam with pride when their child brings home their artwork, no matter what it looks like. And then there are some cases when that pride might be a bit more justified.

Isabel Konstandt is a perfect example! Her art career started early, at age 3, and talent is talent! From painting and drawing to collages, Isabel explores her world with an open mind - the one that seems to evade most adults these days.

We love seeing her work when her mother comes in to frame it! What better way to foster talent and support your budding artist than to frame the art and hang it next to your other kind of priceless art!

By adding a small white float frame to the canvas, we can give it a finished and refined feel. It is a classic style for a canvas.

Isabel loves carousels. How perfect will her carousel horse stencil look in her room?

What begins as a school project quickly becomes art when placed in the perfect frame. Hanging kid's art is rewarding and special, and by adding a frame you can put it on a wall anywhere in your house. And what grandparent wouldn't want their grandchild's art? It's a perfect and meaningful holiday gift!

Isabel's finger painting becomes abstract art when shadowboxed and floated. Hmmm...have I seen something similar in a gallery before? We probably will!

Your child's creativity is something so amazing, as their minds read outside the lines of what something is supposed to look like. Popsicle stick teeth? Of course! Perfection is boring - individuality is memorable and defining!

No matter the type of art or type of paper, a frame can turn some doodles into artwork.

We can't wait to see what Isabel will create next! It's only going to get better and better!

There's Something Strange In The Neighborhood....

Remember these guys?

Did you know that at Castelli, we make custom acrylic boxes that are perfect for protecting collectibles or other items of value. You need to protect these things from being touched too much or damaged.

We put these acrylic boxes together for a customer's collectibles and we love the way they turned out!

We also took care of the Muppet Babies!

Bring in your signed Laker's jersey, your Michael Jordan sneaker, or your priceless Barbie and let us protect its value for you!

SIZE DOES MATTER

It does for us...did you know we could frame extra large oversize pieces? We have stretched 13 foot canvases before and custom framed huge pieces of art (see a picture of the 9 x 13 Leroy Neiman canvas original on our website under Framing Services/Project Gallery).

Like this one on the right...it is a really cool piece of art, but I can't tell you what it is or who it is by because the privacy of our clients is important to us. If they don't want us to show it, we won't!

It takes all of our 3 tables put together and quite a few people to work on it, but we can do it! This is one of our specialties because it takes some work to make this happen.

We are currently framing large Mullicans, of which one is 12 feet by 6 feet. We are going to have to move it on Monday so I'll have some good pictures next week.

Here are some other large pieces we have framed before.

Above Cuban canvas we framed for one of our customers.
Below is another large canvas we custom framed for one of our design clients and their customer.

Can you imagine the size of the wall this oversize art must hang on?

Kobe

We framed one of our favorites today - Mr. Brainwash's infamous Kobe pieces. We've framed a bunch of these and they are each different. Some customers want purple and gold mat boards around them, and some people let them stand on their own. There are some loyal Laker fans out there...

check back tomorrow or Thursday, because we are framing some HUGE pieces...some of them are 8 feet by 5 feet! they are big and take up almost our entire shop!

What's New At Castelli?? Our Website! That's What's New!!

We've launched our new website! Our old website had been created years ago by previous owners and it didn't represent our style. Thanks to the help of Cory and Ravi at Scene Four, we have an amazing new site! Go to www.castelliframing.com and take a look.

You'll also notice that we have a Featured Artist Section! Right now, our Featured Artist is the one and only Shepard Fairey. We have framed Shepard's work for years now we greatly admire his work!  We'll have some pictures and info up soon.

Check in with our blog to see some cool pictures of framed art and hear about the artists and designers we work with. We have celebrity clientele so the stories never end.

Also if you are an artist, follow our blog to find opportunities to show your art - we get requests from clients for certain types of art, and i'll put out a request through this blog.

And lastly, mention that you read this blog and  you'll receive a 20% discount off your next frame at Castelli Custom Framing. We're a wholesale shop, so you'll never pay a retail price with us.
